Hi, I'm Valerie, I started I Love Sweden in 2010-2011 with the goal of promoting the Swedish music scene and sharing my musical discoveries by filming unique and original acoustic sessions around the country.
In 13 years I have prepared, recorded, edited and published over 300 sessions, as well as filmed hundreds of concerts in Paris and Sweden. Every summer, I come for a month and a half to film as many artists as possible to have enough videos to post all over the year. My record is a total of 38 sessions in 2018!
I've always done this for free, with my own money and without any subsidy, but this time I need your help!
I’ve never really paid attention to how much I spend every year… but I've now realized that flights, rent, trains to travel around the country, food… all this is increasingly expensive, and it will be hard to continue maintaining this project in the years to come.
My real job in France is Motion Designer. I'm freelancing for a few companies in different types of corporate projects, but I haven't had a lot of work since some time, therefore not a lot of income either. I have now come to worry if I'm still able to afford travelling to Sweden again every summer.
That’s why I have decided to open a fundraising campaign to ask for some help from everyone I have filmed and worked with throughout the years, in an effort to help me gather enough money to return to Sweden and continue this passion project.
I'd love to continue filming and making beautiful videos for you and allowing folks around the world to discover new Swedish artists, and also because it's a very personal project that I care about, making me travel and meet new lovely people every year.
You can always count on me if you need new videos, and it's always nice to receive positive feedbacks from artists who are happy with how their videos turn out!
Any other regular help is also welcome, such as helping me find paid projects as a motion designer, making lyrics videos which I have done a few times for some Swedish artists, or help me find a place to stay.
I hope that if you like my work and/or worked with me in the past, you'll be able to contribute to this project so it can continue to exist in the future. It's a long-term collaboration!
Thanks for your support!
