Aide Covid New Delhi Avril 2021

J’ai lance ce appel aux dons suite aux décès dans ma famille, mes amis, mes fournisseurs et des milliers des habitants de ma ville due au Covid, surtout une sensation de ne pouvoir rien faire et de voir mon pays en agonie. I launched this appeal for donations following the deaths in my family, my friends, my suppliers and thousands of the inhabitants of my city due to the Covid, especially a feeling of not being able to do anything and to see my country in agony.

En Inde, la situation est hors de contrôle. Des crémations sont improvisées à la hâte dans les rues de Delhi, juste à côté des crématoriums débordés. Des patients à l'agonie attendent un lit ou un peu d'oxygène devant des hôpitaux arrivés à saturation. Les messages de détresse se succèdent sur les réseaux sociaux. Chaque jour y est plus meurtrier que la veille.

Toute la journée, le bruit des sirènes. Les ambulances se succèdent devant les hôpitaux de la ville. À l'arrière, des malades suspectés d'avoir contracté le Covid-19 et ses variants. Transpirant à grosses gouttes, gémissant, les patients attendent à l'entrée des urgences parfois pendant des heures.

Certains patients arrivent à bout de souffle. Les infirmiers se précipitent pour leur apporter au plus vite de l'oxygène à l'arrière des ambulances. Le gaz est devenu une denrée rare dans le pays, les grandes villes se l'arrachent. La pénurie à Delhi est totale et entraîne panique et décès à la chaîne.

Témoignage de mon ami : “Mon frère est mort à 4 heures du matin et je ne l’ai découvert qu’à 10 heures quand je suis arrivée à l’hôpital. L’hôpital ne m’a pas informée car il y avait 30 autres familles dont les proches étaient décédés en même temps. J’étais en colère et je voulais parler au directeur parce que je ne trouvais pas la dépouille mortelle de mon frère, mais l’hôpital avait engagé des videurs qui m’ont bousculée. Lorsque j’ai réussi à trouver mon frère dans une morgue, il y avait des tonnes de corps couchés les uns sur les autres, par manque de place. Puis j’ai trouvé le cadavre de mon frère qui était recouvert d’un drap blanc. J’ai dû marcher sur d’autres cadavres pour l’atteindre. Je n’avais le droit d’emmener son corps dans une ambulance que dans un crématorium agréé par l’hôpital. Mais le crématorium n’avait plus de bois. Nous avons commencé à ramasser des mauvaises herbes et de l’herbe que nous avons utilisées pour incinérer mon frère”.

L’Inde est ravagée par la 2ème vague de Covid-19, tel un tsunami. Le pays manque de tout pour affronter cette catastrophe humanitaire.

- Un soutien médical : soutien aux centres de santé, hopitaux et les temples sikhs. Nous fournissons du matériel médical essentiel tel que des concentrateurs de l’oxygène, des équipements de protection aux personnels soignants.

- Des actions de prévention : nous allons continuer de sensibiliser les populations aux gestes barrière et à la vaccination.

- Un soutien aux populations : nous allons aussi continuer nos distributions d’aide alimentaire

In India, the situation is out of control. Cremations are hastily improvised on the streets of Delhi, right next to overwhelmed crematoriums. Aging patients are waiting for a bed or a little oxygen in front of hospitals that have reached saturation point. Distress messages follow one another on social networks. Every day is more deadly there than the day before.

All day long, the sound of sirens. Ambulances follow one another in front of the city's hospitals. At the back, patients suspected of having contracted Covid-19 and its variants. Sweating profusely, moaning, patients wait at the entrance to the emergency room, sometimes for hours.

Some patients run out of breath. The nurses rush to bring them oxygen as quickly as possible in the back of the ambulances. Oxygen has become a scarce commodity in the country, the big cities are fighting it out. The shortage in Delhi is total and causes panic and death in the chain.

Testimony of my friend: “My brother died at 4 am and I did not discover him until 10 am when I arrived at the hospital. The hospital did not notify me because there were 30 other families whose relatives had died at the same time. I was angry and wanted to talk to the warden because I couldn't find my brother's remains, but the hospital had hired bouncers who pushed me around. When I managed to find my brother in a mortuary, there were tons of bodies lying on top of each other for lack of space. Then I found my brother's body which was covered with a white sheet. I had to step over other corpses to reach him. I was only allowed to take his body in an ambulance to a hospital approved crematorium. But the crematorium was out of wood. We started collecting weeds and grass which we used to cremate my brother ”.

India is ravaged by the 2nd wave of Covid-19, like a tsunami. The country lacks everything to face this humanitarian catastrophe.
