Description
Hello dear friends & hopefully friends of friends.
I have helped a few charities over the years and am very grateful to my wonderful friends that I have always been able to get support from you to help people or animals in need. I have never tried to raise money to help anyone immediately, but after visiting this orphanage in Luang Prabang for the second time, I think it is time to help straight away. I have already visited the orphanage 3 years ago and there were about 230 children living in very poor conditions but with bright smiles on their faces. We cooked a lot of food then and brought them many small and simple gifts like soap, pens, paper, English books, shoes, jackets, toothpaste and toothbrushes. Last week I visited the same orpange again and was so sad to hear that there are now almost 450 children living there who have lost their parents or have only one parent left who is not able to take care of them. The children really live in very poor circumstances when you look at the dormitory, but when I see them in class - how much positive energy they have to learn English, the Lao language and maths really touched me and I thought we can do something to help together. I have organised a day before Christmas where I will buy lots of food and with the help of some friends here we will go there in the morning and prepare a delicious lunch for the children and teachers. I would also like to buy the missing items for the children and ask for your help to support me a little. No matter how much you can donate - it will help 100% and 100% will go directly to the children. I will take lots of pictures to show you what I will be able to bring to the children. So hopefully lots and lots. The first time I visited the orphanage was because my friend Saïta has been supporting the children for almost 5 years. I try to support her in this good cause and I hope you can help as well. I wish you all a wonderful Christmas season with your families and friends and I hope you can help me to put a smile on the children's faces on 22 December.
Thank you so so muchyours Lars
