Holiday presents for support staff who are not AUP employees

Call for contributions to help AUP cleaners and security staff. The people who clean our AUP buildings are
employed by external contractors and do not receive the benefits of full time employees . They live far away and leave home at 5am to start at 6 and are often gone by 9. They have precarious situations often broken shifts and receive low incomes . We owe them a lot and their labour is invisible to most of us . The security staff are in the vast majority employees of a contractor and do not have any of our benefits .
They are first in-line if ever we were
God forbid attacked. They deserve our gratitude. Last year only faculty were asked to contribute and we raised 1135 euros of which 1o3 came late and. we have
not spent. 103.yet . Last year Ursula helped me distribute this and we included only teaching buildings. This year we
are including administrative Staff in our requests for gifts
and the cleaning staff of LTM
in our gifts.We ask those of you who are able to donate to help our ‘almost colleagues ‘ enjoy the holiday season despite their difficult conditions of work.
