Writing a speech is an art and requires more than just knowing your way around words --- lucky for you it can be learnt.

Before we start and learn the process of effective speech writing; it is important to understand the different types of speeches.

Informative speeches are made to educate the audience about an unfamiliar or new subject. It does not require visual aid, but the information is presented in the form of facts and figures.

Demonstrative speech is similar to an informative speech; it also educates the audience about something. The only difference is that a demonstrative speech uses visual aid to demonstrate something.

Persuasive speech papers convince the audience to agree with the speaker’s point of view.

Entertaining speeches are short and informal and are there for entertainment purposes only. They are based on illustrations, humour and funny stories or incidents.

The effective tips to write a speech are mentioned below:

While choosing your topic, write down everything that comes to your mind about a particular subject. Remember, that your speech should be well-researched, so read whatever you can find on the subject and then jot down ideas that you find interesting.

Choosing a topic, you are passionate about and find interesting will make the research phase not seem like work.
