Support for the Guarani Mbya Indigenous People, Tupa and his family
On the International Day of Indigenous Peoples, in the middle of the night, our house "oka" and Instituto Nhandereko was criminally set on fire. Luckily, we were not present.
As an heir to this millennia-old culture, Tupa Nunes, a shaman, political leader, and history graduate, along with his community, lives in and protects the lush Atlantic Forest of Brazil. This forest, alongside the nearby Amazon, constitutes the other major biome of the country, housing countless species of hummingbirds and mammals such as jaguars and hosting 7% of all animal and plant species on the planet.
The two ecosystems communicate with each other and play a crucial role in climate regulation.
As guardians of a sacred primary Atlantic forest, souls and spirits of nature, Shaman Tupa Nunes cultivates a pragmatic and spiritual relationship with nature. Although indigenous peoples represent only 5% of the world's population, they preserve nearly 80% of terrestrial biodiversity according to the UN.
Currently, the 267 inhabitants of the Guarani Mbya indigenous village MATA VERDE BONITA in Marica (RJ, Brazil), led by Tupa, are facing bulldozers from the Spanish real estate company Maraey that are massively and illegally destroying the Brazilian Atlantic Forest (a protected national park).
The Spanish real estate company IDBrasil Maraey plans to build a luxury resort there, despite two injunctions issued by the Brazilian federal court.
CALL FOR SOLIDARITY
We need your support so that Tupa Nunes, leader of the Guarani Mbya community, can stop this illegal construction by continuing his information campaign in Europe to alert the general public and international institutions about the tragic situation his village and community are facing, endangering their survival, existence, and that of the land every day more.
Indigenous peoples living in the Amazon and Atlantic forests are the guardians of our future on earth and that of our children.
For hundreds of years, they have preserved the forests through their ancestral cultures and knowledge.
Let's help them preserve our land by defending their indigenous lands against the illegal acts of companies that destroy nature.
Let's help them engage in a dialogue with the CEO of the Maraey company (ILO Convention 169).
Let's help them reforest their indigenous land following the effects of massive destruction and pollution by the Spanish company, for their survival. Let's help them build an indigenous college and university in their village for a "differentiated education" (bi-language). Let's help them grow their Nhandereko institute for the protection of their human rights, for the preservation of their land, culture, and knowledge.
We are all one; we are the Earth.

- AnonymeAvec tous mes vœux pour trouver le courage d’affronter la bêtise humaine et j’espère que le dispensaire n’a pas subi de tels dégâts. Que ma modeste contribution participe à l’aboutissement de la reconstruction. Sylvie2 years ago💜🙏🏼2 years ago
