We – Amadou and Alma – are starting a dance project about connection, difference, and encounter.
From July 1–13, 2025, we’ll be in a residency in Marrakesh to begin creating “Nioko Bokk” – a piece inspired by a phrase in Wolof (the language most widely spoken in Senegal)
meaning: “We are in this together.” Accommodation is covered – but we still need €800 for travel, food, and health insurance. (Yes, somehow flying within Africa is more expensive than flying from Africa to Europe… 🤷🏽‍♀️)

Wir – Amadou und Alma – starten ein Tanzprojekt über Begegnung, Unterschiede und Verbindung.
Vom 1. bis 13. Juli 2025 sind wir zu einer Residenz in Marrakesch eingeladen, um mit der Arbeit an „Nioko Bokk“ zu beginnen – inspiriert durch den Ausdruck in Wolof (der am meisten im Senegal gesprochenen Sprache), der so viel heißt wie „Wir gehören zusammen.“
Die Unterkunft ist gesichert – es fehlen uns aber noch 800 € für Reise, Verpflegung und eine Krankenversicherung für Amadou.

(Und ja – erstaunlicherweise sind Flüge innerhalb Afrikas oft teurer als von Afrika nach Europa … 🤷🏽‍♀️)

Nous – Amadou et Alma – lançons un projet de danse sur la rencontre, la différence et les liens.
Du 1er au 13 juillet 2025, nous serons en résidence à Marrakech pour commencer la création de « Nioko Bokk », une expression en wolof (la langue la plus parlée au Sénégal) qui signifie « On est ensemble. » Le logement est couvert – mais il nous manque encore 800 € pour les transports, la nourriture et l’assurance santé d’Amadou. (Oui, c’est fou – les vols en Afrique sont parfois plus chers que de l'Afrique vers l’Europe… 🤷🏽‍♀️)
