Solidarité aux sinistrés du Moulin des Artistes - Peter, Anati et Andy

Bienvenue sur cette cagnotte et merci pour votre solidarité

Dans la nuit du vendredi 9 au samedi 10 décembre 2016, le « Moulin des Artistes », lieu de création artistique, situé aux Praz de Chamonix, a été entièrement détruit par un incendie.

Dans un élan de solidarité, la communauté chamoniarde lance une levée de fonds pour les artistes sinistrés : Peter Steltzner, Anati Graetz et Andy Parkin.

Historique :

Le « Moulin des artistes », autrefois moulin de forge et scierie du village des Praz, est un site incontournable du patrimoine chamoniard. On estime qu'il fut construit au XVIe siècle.

Au début des années 1990, l'endroit à été reconverti en atelier artistique sous l'impulsion du sculpteur Philippe Vouillamoz et d'Andy Parkin, célèbre artiste-alpiniste anglais.

Depuis lors, le « Moulin » était devenu un lieu unique à Chamonix. En 2010, c'est Peter Steltzner et sa compagne Anati Graetz qui s'installent et se lancent dans la production de skis en bois. En quelques années, « Rabbit On The Roof » devient une référence pour les amoureux du travail bien fait et les skieurs artistes. Des expositions, des rencontres, des lectures et des soirées caritatives pour le Népal, pour le projet de Vanessa Francois « El cap à bout de bras », etc.

Ce lieu avait un grand cœur et une belle âme, rendons lui la pareille !

Cette cagnotte permettra de soutenir les artistes sinistrés Peter Steltzner (fondateur de la marque de ski en bois «Rabbit On The Roof», Anati Graetz (artiste-peintre) et Andy Parkin (sculpteur et artiste-peintre).

Cet incendie n'a pas seulement fait disparaître leurs œuvres, il a aussi détruit leurs outils de production, leurs biens et, pour certains, leur logement.

On the night of Friday 9th December to Saturday 10th December 2016 the « Moulin des artistes », a local artists workshop and popular gallery located in Le Praz in the Chamonix valley, was completely destroyed by a fire.

History:

The "Moulin des artistes" is a site of historical interest in Chamonix ; formerly the grain mill and saw mill serving the residents of the village of Les Praz. It is believed to have been built in the 16th century.

In the early 1990s, the mill and its buildings were converted into an artistic workshop by the sculptor Philippe Vouillamoz and Andy Parkin, famous English artist-mountaineer.

Since then, the "Moulin" has become a well known place in Chamonix. In 2010 Peter Steltzner and his partner Anati Graetz arrived and started the production of wooden skis. In just a few years, the "Rabbit On The Roof" ski brand has become a point of reference for passionate skiers, artists and lovers of hand made equipment. The Moulin has hosted Exhibitions, meetings, readings and charity evenings for Nepal, for the project of Vanessa Francois "El cap à bout de bras" and many other community projects too numerous to name. This place had a great heart and a beautiful soul, let us help to keep this spirit going!

The funds raised will support the artists affected by the disaster; Peter Steltzner (founder of the ski wooden brand "Rabbit On The Roof"), Anati Graetz (artist-painter) and Andy Parkin (sculptor and painter). Not only has the fire destroyed their works of art - their tools, personal possessions and place of living have also disappeared overnight.
