Liebe Freunde, Familie, Bekannte und Wildfremde!

ICH RADLE

Zum Abschluss meines Jahres zwischen Abitur und Studium vom 1. September bis 23. September von Kornwestheim nach Kopenhagen. Auf dieser Radtour werde ich bei vielen Freunden, die ich während meiner 5 Monate als Volunteer in Namibia und Südafrika kennengelernt habe, übernachten, was für mich den „Kreis dieses Jahres“ schließt. Damit mir die Tritte während dieser 1327km nach Kopenhagen etwas leichter fallen, sammle ich Spenden für meine zwei Projekte in Namibia, bei denen ich tätig war.

DU SPENDEST

Mit deiner Hilfe möchte ich zwei Projekte unterstützen, die Suppenküche „Home of Good Hope“ und den „After School Club P.A.Y. (Physically Active Youth)“. Beide Projekte befinden sich im Township von Windhoek, Katatura, was frei übersetzt soviel bedeutet wie „Ort an dem wir nicht leben wollen“.

Der „After School Club P.A.Y.“ findet jeden Nachmittag statt und gibt kostenloses Essen und Nachhilfeunterricht für Kinder von der 1. bis zur 12. Klasse. P.A.Y. ist ein sehr familiäres Projekt mit vielen Freiwilligen Helfern und finanziert sich nur durch Spenden, was oft zu finanziellen Engpässen führt.

Die Suppenküche „Home of Good Hope“ ist eine Blechhütte, in der täglich bis zu 600 Kinder mit zwei Töpfen Essen versorgt werden, wobei das Essen trotz der kleinen Portionen meistens ausgeht bevor alle etwas gegessen haben. Vor und nach dem Essen betreuen die Freiwilligen die Kinder meistens im Außenbereich, da es in der Blechhütte zu klein, heiß und stickig ist. Vor dem Essen werden außerdem mit allen im Sprechchor Grundlagen wie das Alphabet geübt.

GEMEINSAM BEWEGEN WIR ETWAS

Bildung und etwas zu Essen sind in unserer Gesellschaft selbstverständlich, in vielen Ländern wie auch Namibia leider noch nicht. Damit die Kinder ihre Zukunft gestalten können, brauchen sie Bildung und etwas zu Essen. Diese Grundbedürfnisse eines jeden Kindes werden von beiden Projekten gefördert und unterstützt. 

Mit deiner Spende ermöglichst du den Projekten, das auch in Zukunft anbieten zu können und damit vielen Kindern ein Lächeln und bessere Chancen auf eine Zukunft zu schenken.

I CYCLE

At the end of my year between high school and university from September 1 to September 23 from Kornwestheim (Stuttgart) to Copenhagen. On this bike tour I will visit many friends I met during my 5 months as a volunteer in Namibia and South Africa, which makes my year come full circle. To make it easier for me to pedal during this 1327km trip to Copenhagen, I collect donations for my two projects I worked for in Namibia.

YOU DONATE

With your help I would like to support two projects, the soup kitchen „Home of Good Hope“ and the After School Club „P.A.Y. (Physically Active Youth)“. Both projects are located in the township of Windhoek, Katatura, which (freely translated) means „place where we don’t want to live“.

The After School Club „P.A.Y.“ takes place every afternoon after school and offers free food and tutoring for children from 1st to 12th grade. P.A.Y. and its many volunteers give the kids a caring  environment full of love but the project is financed only by donations, which often leads to financial shortages.

The soup kitchen „Home of Good Hope“ is a iron hut/shack in which up to 600 children are provided with two pots of food every day. Despite the small portions, the food usually runs out before everyone has eaten something. Before and after lunch, the volunteers usually play with the children outside, as it is too small, hot and stuffy in the iron hut. Before the meal, the kids also practice basics such as the alphabet together.

TOGETHER WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Education and food are a matter of course in our society, unfortunately not yet in many countries, including Namibia. In order for the children to shape their future on their own, they need education and something to eat. These basic needs of every child are promoted and supported by both projects. With your donation you make it possible for the projects to continue to offer this in the future and thus give many children a smile and better chances for their future.
