DOLYTES CENTRE D'APPRENTISSAGE is a learning center that already exists in France since September 2019 as a language center, and we are in the process of replicating a similar learning center in Kisumu Kenya for pupils from kindergarten to nineth grade with the aim of promoting new teaching methods based on self-directed learning and preparation for professional life. We intend to empower our learners to take more and more responsibility for various learning decisions through the concept of self-directed learning. This idea is inspired by andragogy, a concept by Malcolm Shepherd Knowles (1984).
DOLYTES CENTRE D'APPRENTISSAGE aims to complement the current educational system by nurturing children's creativity, imagination and critical thinking skills while respecting the curriculum of the Ministry of Education.
It thus offers a caring, alternative and innovative school program.
Our mission is to prepare learners with integrity and commitment in an environment that encourages reflection and growth in learning outcomes. This environment is intended to foster academic excellence and commitment to learning. Our students will become independent lifelong learners and develop 21st century skills for future professional careers. We are committed to providing innovative spaces and resources to facilitate effective and meaningful learning.
Our learning center in Kisumu will be developed in 2 phases. Construction works for Phase 1 mainly ground floor started in August and half way done was suspended in December 2021 due to funding shortfalls. Phase 2 will comprise development of first floor and is expected to be completed by December 2022.
The estimated cost for phase 1 is Kshs. 13.1 million and includes land and construction cost of Kshs. 2.5 million and Kshs. 3 million for inventory, teaching aids, teacher’s salary for 3 months and office furniture. Out of Kshs. 13.1 million required for phase 1, a total of Kshs. 7.66 million has been spent with a shortfall of Kshs 5.5 million which we are seeking from partners to enable us complete in readiness for admission in early 2022.
This project is vital for our society as we need to put tomorrow into consideration by training future leaders and entrepreneurs for the sake of the continuity of the society. Given the current COVID conditions and the global economic situation, it is prudent to ensure that the future adult will be well equipped to meet the needs of the future.
The estimated project cost to completion of phase 1 is Kshs. 13.1 million. We have the honor to solicit a grant support from your benevolence for Kshs 5.5 million, to implement this project which is particularly dear to our hearts and essential to the development of our society.
We have our strategy direction outlining, our specific requirements, photos of the development works undertaken and planned activities.
We wish to thank you in advance and hope to receive positive response from your side.
Kind regards
