Harm fait l'objet d'un procès inéquitable et a été condamné en première instance à 12 ans de prison en Chine. Suite à la couverture médiatique de cette affaire aux Pays Bas et en France, j'ai créé une page Facebook ainsi qu'un site internet (www.fairtrialforharm.eu) où figurent toutes les informations. Chaque jour, toujours plus de gens rejoignent notre cause, et nous avons reçu des messages demandant comment soutenir financièrement Harm et sa famille. En effet, Harm est détenu depuis 20 mois et nous avons dû payer 150.000 euros de frais d'avocat! Et comme il est de coutume en Chine, nous allons également devoir payer la famille du défunt afin qu'ils retirent leurs accusations contre Harm.

Harm faces unfair trial and 12 years sentence in China.
Following the media coverage of Harm’s story in the Netherlands, I created a Facebook page, Fair Trial For Harm (click here to see the page) to share these reports and articles. There is also a website www.fairtrialforharm.eu where you can see more information about the case. Everyday, more and more people join this page, showing much needed love and support to Harm and his family and friends.
We also received some very nice messages from people asking how they could financially support Harm and his family. Indeed, Harm has been detained for 20 months and already had to pay more than 150.000 euros in lawyer’s fees! And as it is the custom in China to make sure the sentence is lowered, we could also have to pay a lot of compensations to the family of the defunct...

By the way, I am Diane Vandesmet, Harm's girlfriend. I come from France. Harm and I were living together in the house in Beijing when the accident happened. After the accident, I have contacted his family, seen the Dutch consular department many times, visited the lawyers and done everything I could to help him out. After the appeal hearing, I launched the media and social media campaign to help raise awareness about his case. Cher tous, je vais fermer cette cagnotte dans trois jours, vous pouvez donc encore apporter votre contribution si vous le souhaitez. J'aimerais d'ores et déjà remercier tous les généreux donateurs, que ce soit sur cette cagnotte, sur Wechat, ou sur le compte en banque de Harm. En tout, nous avons récolté 50.000 euros depuis décembre. Cet argent est extrêmement utile car comme je l'ai déjà mentionné, la famille de Harm a déjà payé les frais d'avocat (150.000 euros) et nous avons encore des frais à payer auprès de la justice chinoise afin d'accélérer la libération de Harm. Dans une lettre à la juge, la famille de Harm a demandé sa libération immédiate. Mais nous devons encore attendre le verdict, qui devrait normalement être prononcé dans les deux mois.
Dear all, I am going to close this money pot in three days, so you can still bring in your contribution if you wish. I would like to thank everyone for donating money on this money pot, on WeChat and on Harm's bank account. Since December, we have collected 50.000 euros. This money is extremely useful because, as I already mentioned it, Harm's family have already spent 150.000 euros to pay the lawyer's fees and we still have to pay some more money to the Chinese justice in order to accelerate Harm's liberation. In a letter addressed to the judge, we have asked to free Harm immediately. But we still have to wait for the verdict which should be pronounced within two months.

Dear all,
I extended again the duration of this money pot for a few more days before transfering everything on Harm's account. We have now reached a very honorable amount of money and I would like to thank everyone for contributing on this money pot and also on Harm's account and Wechat. We are asked to pay high compensations in order to make sure Harm is liberated quickly, it means that every euro spent is a step closer to Freedom!
