L'HEURE VIDE HUMANITAIRE - Venezuelan refugees

While travelling through South America by car we crossed the border of Ecuador and Colombia in Rumichaca. There we saw so many Venezuelan refugees in such great misery without the help they needed, that we decided to stay. We started this NGO, and have been working together succesfully with local and international organizations to give them the help they need. Please visit us at: www.lheurevidehumanitaire.orgInstagram: L'HEURE VIDE humanitaire L’HEURE VIDE humanitaire is a small network-based NGO focused on short-term projects in emergency situations involving refugee issues worldwide. Our approach is to assist existing humanitarian aid structures and local associations and to supplement them when their opportunities to act are limited or restraint. Our aim is not to direct or to implement. We are there to help. This approach ensures that we can focus on what is needed on the ground and in the now to fill the gaps in aid left by big organizational structures and complex international policy. As a small and nimble organization, we are not limited by bureaucracy or massive overhead. This allows us to concentrate our efforts where we excel: organizing the available resources in a hands-on, creative way to produce tangible results quickly and effectively. Help fund a cochlear implant surgery for 18 month old baby

Raising a funding campaign as I came across the story of Marc Alexander, 18 month baby boy born in Haiti and diagnosed bilaterally deaf (both ears). Long story short, Haiti does not have the proper medical infrastructure and the government support to help this little boy get a cochlear implant surgery that would give him the ability to hear and speak. The longer he waits to get the implant, the more irreversible speech and development delay will occur. This would cost USD 30,000 including a trip abroad to get the surgery done (I myself have done research for my daughter and no kidding, it really cost that much). I spoke to his mother who didn't know what to do and who to turn to, and I felt the need to help them. As a French national and a Hong Kong resident , and as a mother of a 6 months deaf baby myself, my family is fortunate enough to have access to the best-in-class health support, excellent medical care and infrastructure ...and this is all (or almost) FREE!! We tend to forget how lucky we are. This little boy does not share our luck. Please take some time to read his story, DONATE and SHARE THIS POST to help him get access to a cochlear implant surgery, this amazing, life changing technology that will give him back the gift of hearing and speech.Carine Story of Marc Alexandre: Hello everyone. We are Kamaïa and Darlin Jeanty, parents of 18 months old Marc-Alexandre. We live Haiti, one of the most under-developed country in the world. We suspected the deafness of our son when he was 2 months and a half, as he was not reacting to sound. Due to lack of medical resources and infrastructure in Haiti, we were unable to obtain a diagnosis right away. When Marc-Alexandre turned 12 months old, we had been recommended to have him checked out in Republic Dominican. Without a second of hesitation, we took out all of our savings and bought a flight for the 3 of us to go meet an ENT specialist there. The results were devastating: Marc-Alexandre was diagnosed bilaterally deaf (both ears). We were not sure what to do or where to turn. We do not know if he would ever say, "I love you Mommy and Daddy." We have prayed for a happy, productive life for Marc-Alexander, and we want him to go to school and someday graduate from university to pursue a career and a life that he chooses. The ENT was adamant that our son needed cochlear implants; Implanting Marc will give him access to sound which will provide him with the only chance of age-appropriate speech and language development. This will provide him the opportunity to a better education and independent employment as an adult in the future. If not implanted, it may lead to permanent changes in the auditory cortex in the brain which may make it impossible to benefit from a cochlear implant or any form of hearing restoration surgery in the future. The cochlear implant bypasses the damaged portions of the ear and directly stimulates the auditory nerve. The signals are generated by the implant and are sent passed the auditory nerve to the brain where the signals are recognised as sounds. However, the cochlear implants will cost USD$30,000 as we do not have insurance and there is no government social subsidy or help of any kind. We are raising money to pay for medical expenses including surgery, cochlear implant device, and a trip abroad for the surgery.Marc is growing up and as his parents; we know we have to do something. The only future for our son is to hear with cochlear implants. Just like everyone else, we want to give him the best possible future there is.Life is so precious and this innocent boy who deserves the right to live normally. In advance, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your incredible moral and financial support. Thank you for helping us change the life of our child. Kamaïa and Darlin Jeanty

Marco & Thijs - Bike4Kika

All, This summer (4th August) myself and my son Thijs will be biking ~1000km from Oberrieden, Switzerland to Schagen, the Netherlands. We will be following the river Rhein all the way to the Netherlands. We aim to complete the bike tour in 10 days. We are doing this to raise money for child cancer research. Reason we are doing this is that a little over a year Thijs’s grandad passed away from cancer. I also had cancer and was lucky enough to survive, as such we want to do what we can to help other people that have cancer. Every little bit helps. All the money donated will go 100% to KIKA, which has been set up in 2002 to fund innovative research for Child Cancer. Treatments have significantly improved but still 1 in 4 children, diagnosed with cancer dies. The charity’s aim is to increase the survival rate of children suffering from cancer from 75% to 95% by 2025. They aim to do this by funding scientific research, improving treatments (less pain, higher cure rate and improved quality of life), concentrating expertise and treatment for children to accelerate experience. We hope you want to support with us this cause as no one especially not a child, should have to die from cancer. Thank you!Thijs & Marco

Support for Aelfin Michel

Aelfin Michel - Critical Condition - Hua Hin, ThailandSadly, on December 31st, Aelfin tragically crashed on a motorbike causing him to suffer severe head and face trauma. Aelfin is currently in ICU under 24 hours medical care and constant support. When Aelfin arrived in emergency he required immediate surgery to remove bleeding on the brain and had part of his skull removed, which will need to be replaced with titanium. His jaw and teeth were severely smashed which will require surgery, as well as other serious facial and head injuries. Unfortunately this is a very critical situation. Due to the severity of his head injuries he has had many operations to date and requires many more, plus 24 hours support and months (if not years) of therapy. The latter is not yet known as we are currently taking it day by day, knowing that each day is a miracle. Aelfin is a fighter and at every set back he is fighting to stay here with us. For those that know him will know his determination and stubbornness. This trait is shining through in his fight for his life. This gives us hope. Holding onto this hope and knowing that Aelfin will keep on fighting, there is a long and very expensive battle ahead of us. He requires many more surgeries, and unfortunately at this stage, we are unsure of the extent of damage and rehabilitation required. We urgently ask all of you to help support Aelfin and his mother, Emma, with the extensive ongoing medical costs and medical care that Aelfin needs now and for the coming months. ALL of the funds donated will be used to cover Aelfin's hospital bills, medical and rehabiliation expenses. We would like to express our gratitude for your kind donations to the SUPPORT AELFIN FUND. Best regards,Aelfin's support team

Support a family house in Cambodia

Support a family house in Cambodia

Hello friends, family and guests of "Les Néréides"!Since 2011, our holiday rentals have generated an annual donation of 800 to 1000 euros so that Cambodian children in need can live and grow in a safe family environment. They need our support as much as ever, but with Covid, our bookings have raised just 220 euros. Here, you can donate a small part of what you may not have spent on a foreign holiday this year, and help us reach our usual amount. We have all lost a lot in 2020, but hope is around the corner. Let’s make sure the children of Krousar Thmey can enjoy some of that hope too!Thank you from them and from us, for whatever you can contribute.Best wishes for the holidays and for a bright and better New Year,Suzanne & Jean-François Presentation of the projectThe project aims to support a family house in Cambodia in order to help marginalized children to be reintegrated into their families and society, through emotional, educational, and material support. The family house in question (named "Kpop Veng") welcomes street children who have suffered from important trauma into a safe environment, tailored to their needs, while providing them with the resources and care they require to become independent and responsible adults.BackgroundBorn in 1991 in the Site II refugee camp in Thailand, Krousar Thmey (“New family” in Khmer) is the first Cambodian foundation helping underprivileged children. Its mission is to enable the integration of underprivileged children into Cambodian society through education and support adapted to their needs, with respect to their traditions and beliefs.Kpop Veng family house is one of the four family houses run by Krousar Thmey in 2020. The house opened in 1999 and is located in the city of Takhmao, in the suburbs of Phnom Penh in Cambodia. Sokhy, the mother in charge of the family house, has been working with Krousar Thmey since 1999, which demonstrates her reliability and provides a sense of security to the children. After 20 years, she is always enthusiastic and still passionate about her work.Currently, the house welcomes 8 children (4 boys and 4 girls). How will the funds be used? The funds will be used to support the education, health, hygiene, nutrition, as well as cultural and recreational activities for the children of the Kpop Veng family house. For instance, a contribution of:- 5$ covers the expenses allowing the children to do gardening for a month- 10$ covers the price of school uniforms for one child for one year- 37$ covers the food for one child for one month- 50$ covers extra English classes for the children for one month Thank you again for your support !

Education for 3 members of an Indian family near Bodhgaya (India)

Education for 3 members of an Indian family near Bodhgaya (India)

Hello everyone & welcome to this money pot!We are Judit and Jona and we are raising funds to support an Indian family that we consider like our own one, to finance 7 years school for Aruni, a 10-year-old girl, and Rajni's (19) and Tanuja's (17) university. We met Dinu when we volunteered nearby his town last January and we were always welcome at his house for dinner or for a tea. We were always very happy to see his lovely niece and his nephews and to play with them. They have a very modest live. Dinu lives with his parents, 3 sisters, brother-in-law, 2 nephews and one niece. The men are the ones that work outside from home and earn the money. They rely on the high season to earn as much money as possible, to have enough during the lower season. Women look after the house and the kids. Eventhough they have enough to live, it is a struggle to pay for a proper education for the kids and for the youngest sisters that just started university. We believe that now is our time to help them. Aruni is 10 years old, she's very intelligent and a very extrovert kid. She attends a public school and receives a standard education and very basic English classes. She has a very high potential and she deserves a better school. Bare in mind that schools in India go from very basic, to acceptable or if you can afford it, you can pay for a private school where you will receive a very good education. It is a shame that public education hasn't good standards, and this is why Aruni's family would like her to go to a semi private school (which is just 88€/year). Rajni (19) and Tanuja (17) are also very intelligent, caring and very curious women that have big dreams for their future. They refused to marry in a young age and instead go to university. To receive a good education in India means that you will have higher chances to get a better job in the future and that you will be able to become an educated and an independent woman. They both are very engaged within their community, where they teach women about different topics. As we mentioned above, education leaves ignorance behind and empower women to have the courage to try to change a bit the dynamics of their society. In 2020 we are trying to summon up money for at least one year of education for all the three: * 7 years school education for Aruni = 614€Monthly tuition fee Rs 600 (7,3€) = 88€/year * 3 years university for Tanuja and Rajni = 3.105€Admission Rs 3300 (40€)Registration fee (first year) Rs 2000 (24€)Form fee Rs 2500 (30,5€)Books + material Rs 4500 (55€)Monthly transportation fee Rs 1600 (20€) or 240€/yearMontly tuition class fee Rs 1000 (12€) or 144€/yearPer person/3 years: 509,5€/year and 533,5€ first year = 1.552,5€ First year: 1155€ Wetruely believe that this wonderful people deserve a better future and there is no better way of granting this than getting a proper education. Do you help us? We trust Leetchi as it is a transparent platform and the entire amount will be transfered to the purpose mentioned above. Dinu and his family can't thank you enough for this. Thank you very much :) Judit and Jona

3D Printing for Good: Help me to buy a machine for me to learn, build and share projects (eg. prototype healthcare accessories, urgent mask frames etc)

(Francais plus bas / Castellano abajo. Pictures are samples from other makers to display the possibilities of 3D printing and are not my projects.) ==========================19/04/2020 UPDATED: TARGET IS RAISED FROM 330 TO 480 EUR, to include additional filament, disposable gloves and PVC sheets I need for the face shield manufacturing to help local hospitals and clinics fight the beer flu :-(========================== Hello everyone & welcome to this money pot!You know that I support several NGO throughout my time. Some are in the area of 3D printing. These awesome people share their brains, designs and machines for life improvement in challenged resource areas and people in need. During these challenging times, hospitals are asking Pro and amateur 3D printers to collaborate with some of their approved designs, when standard supply cannot deliver eg. mask frames, tubes, etc. I know I can help with my time! But I dont have a printer. I want to spent the following weeks of "Social Distancing" in a useful way, by perfecting my basic knowledge and build useful things in 3D. My current coaching activity is volunteer-based, that's why I cannot afford to buy the printer and some rolls of filament (the raw material) to start on my own. The printer is a low-cost "Ender 3 Pro" valued at 234 EUR, each roll of filament is ~25 EUR. With just 1-click you can support my project. Give however much you want; every euro or dollar brings me closer. I will buy it even if I cannot reach the full 330 EUR I need, and use some emergency savings if needed.
