Education for 3 women from an Indian family

Education for 3 women from an Indian family

THANK YOU for your support. Thanks to you we've already raised and transferred 1.300€ to the family for their first year of university and school.Let's raise money for the second year starting next September 2021! Can you help us?We are Judit and Jona and we are raising funds to support an Indian family that we consider like our own one, to finance Aruni's private school for 7 years, and Rajni's (19) and Tanuja's (17) university for 3 years. We met Dinu when we volunteered nearby his town last January and we were always welcome at his house for dinner or for a cup of tea. We were always very happy to see his lovely niece and his nephews and to play with them. They have a very modest life. Dinu lives with his parents, 3 sisters, brother-in-law, 2 nephews, and one niece. The men are the ones that work outside from home and earn the money. They rely on the high season to earn as much money as possible, to have enough during the lower season. Women look after the house and the kids.Even though they have enough to live, it is a struggle to pay for proper education for the kids and for the youngest sisters that just started university. We believe that now is our time to help them. Aruni is 10 years old, she's very intelligent and a very extrovert kid.She used to attend a public school, where she received a standard education and very basic English classes. She has a very high potential and she deserves a better school. It is a shame that public education hasn't good standards, and this is why Aruni's family wanted her to go to a private school (which is just 88€/year). Thanks to your support during the first academic year, Aruni was able to chance school and now she's attending a private school. Rajni (19) and Tanuja (17) are also very intelligent, caring, and very curious women that have big dreams for their future. They refused to marry at a young age and instead go to university. To receive a good education in India means that you will have higher chances to get a better job in the future and that you will be able to become an educated and independent woman. They both are very engaged within their community, where they teach women about women's rights and their bodies. As we mentioned above, education leaves ignorance behind and empowers women to have the courage to try to change a bit the dynamics of their society. In 2020, we funded a whole year of education raising 1300€ for the three of them. A bit more than we needed :) We want to do the same for the next semester starting in September 2021.1st year (2020): 1155€ (raised and transferred 1300€ -YEY!)2nd year (2021): 1107€ (cheaper without registration fees)3rd year (2022): 1107€4th-7th (2023-2027) for Aruni: 352€ * Expenses in more detail:7 years school education for Aruni = 614€Monthly tuition fee Rs 600 (7,3€) = 88€/year 3 years university for Tanuja and Rajni = 3.105€Admission Rs 3300 (40€)Registration fee (first year) Rs 2000 (24€)Form fee Rs 2500 (30,5€)Books + material Rs 4500 (55€)Monthly transportation fee Rs 1600 (20€) or 240€/yearMontly tuition class fee Rs 1000 (12€) or 144€/yearPer person/3 years: 509,5€/year and 533,5€ first year = 1.552,5€ We truly believe that these wonderful people deserve a better future and there is no better way of granting this than getting a proper education. Do you help us?We trust Leetchi as it is a transparent platform and the entire amount will be transferred to the purpose mentioned above. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us:Aruni, Tanuja, Rajni and Dinu, and the whole family can't thank you enough for this.Thank you very much. Namaste! :) Judit and Jona

Scholarships for the School Of All Relations

Scholarships for the School Of All Relations

“The question is not only what planet we will leave to our youth, but what youth we will leave to our planet.” Support young adults in developing their perception of the common good, opening ways to a more solidary future. We are a greek-french couple and we have founded a center for personal and inter-personal development on the island of Aegina in Greece, Oikia Karapanou (http://www.karapanou.com/) one of the first of its kind in the country at the time of its establishment in 1995. The School Of All Relations was born out of the wish to respond to the acuteness of global disorder by offering empowerment to the young generation. Thanks to the support of over 30 volunteers and 20 trainers coming from all over the world, the School opened its doors in November 2015. SOAR promotes the education of consciousness through an exploration of the relation to self, to others and to the greater whole. We offer 4 to 6 month long, international, community rooted programs to young adults aged 18-30. Our aim is to provide them with a stepping stone towards a fruitful adulthood by supporting them in developing a grounded relation with inner and outer resources which will give them the strength and inspiration to become adults of integrity, respectful of all life, able to respond creatively to the challenges of their time. The SOAR program (link here) combines a set of workshops fostering personal development and community building interwoven with daily practices in mindfulness, body work, communication, group dynamics and more, all embedded in the deep learnings of community life. SOAR is a non-profit initiative, mainly funded by the participation fees. We do not benefit from any kind of grant or financial support. During the first two years, striving to lower as much as possible the participation fees, the hosting team worked on a completely volunteer basis. In 2015-2016 we self-funded two full scholarships for two young Greeks. In 2016-2017 we created our first crowdfunding platform and thanks to the generosity of many friends, we managed to offer 6, full or partial, scholarships. Those two first sessions, 6 months long each, had such a deep, beneficial impact on the development of our participants (See testimonies here) that we decided to continue no matter the cost. We are now working towards our upcoming session (a 4 month long one this time, January 13th-May 3rd), still on a volunteer basis for the whole of the organizing team and for some of our contributors. In parallel we are investigating ways to establish the school’s sustainability. Please help us support some young people who aspire to this opportunity but who cannot meet the financial cost. Scholarships will be granted in priority to young Greeks.Young Greeks have been struggling for years with uncertainty, lack of opportunities, unemployment and often depression within their close environment. The majority of them are highly educated and speak more than two foreign languages. However Greece’s current socio-economic environment pushes them more and more to isolation, self-doubt and a sense of powerlessness. We would particularly like to offer them a possibility to gain the skills, insights, experiences and connections that will help them give meaning to their life and empower them to resume taking initiative. By helping us to offer a scholarship not only do you contribute to the education and the well-being of an individual, but to a social change impulsed by young persons, in service of the common good.A full scholarship (covering accommodation, food, teachings, material, travel costs etc...) amounts to 5000 euros. Our wish is to be able to provide a minimum of three.Every donation is precious. There is no small amount. Even 5 euro will give us great encouragement to continue our work. We thank you for your support!

Having worked with them during your volunteer stay with us, you know their conditions and background and understand our most urgent needs. The Nolali Education Centre is a registered Non-Profit Company situated in a remote, rural village in the Eastern Cape, Transkei region of South Africa. It was founded by Jock Mcconnachie in 2012 and offers services focused around supporting education to students at surrounding Xhosa schools in our village. Our core impact currently is teaching grade 1, 2 and 3 Xhosa students to read in English via our one-on-one reading programme implemented by international volunteers. We have also empowered two members of the community by successfully training them to implement the reading programme at our library at Soga Junior School. We offer these mothers a small monthly stipend for their work and rely on donations to make it possible.Since covid, we have extended our project to include training preschool teachers who care for children from 2 to 5 years old, creating the foundation of these children's education. We have been fortunate enough to connect with a Xhosa teacher trainer specialist, Simon Madonono, who together with the leadership and sponsorship of a trust organization, has trained kindergarten teachers, extending to include parents / guardian workshops which teach the role of education at home via simple yet effective methods with great results in the rural Kei Farm community. Simon has visited our project for a few days to meet the preschool teacher at Manyono Preschool which we currently support, and is keen to partner with us and develop the preschool. To replicate the teacher training at Manyano Preschool, we would need to offer Simon a small stipend for ongoing teacher workshops which ultimately benefit all the children under her care. We urgently need funds for the first few weeks of Simon's visit beginning early August.Thank you for caring.
