En 🇫🇷 : Samedi 09 mai 2026 à Ra’iatea, nous, les populations de Tevaitoa, Tehurui et des autres communes de l’île, nous nous sommes rassemblés sur notre motu HOREA pour protester contre le projet de la SAS TE RAI-ATEA.

Le projet de la SAS TE RAI-ATEA prévoit la construction d’un Beach Club destiné à une clientèle internationale. Non seulement ce projet dénature l’authenticité de notre motu, mais il compromet également l’accès de nos familles qui ont l’habitude de s’y rendre depuis des générations.

Des conditions d’accès restrictives seraient mises en place, favorisant les visiteurs internationaux au détriment des habitants de l’île.

Si nous nous mobilisons aujourd’hui, c’est parce ce qu’il n’y a eu AUCUNE consultation publique au préalable avant les décisions prises pour ce projet.

Le 17 mai 2024, l’ancien conseil municipal a validé la location du motu HOREA à la SAS RAI-ATEA pour 150 000 XPF par mois, sur une période de 20 ans…Le permis de construire a ensuite été enregistré le 05 juillet 2024 auprès de la Subdivision des Îles sous le Vent.

Pourtant, la population n’a été informée de l’existence du projet que le 21 août 2024 alors que le motu HOREA est PUBLIC !

Face à cette rétention d’informations et le manque de transparence, nous avons pris l’initiative de nous mobiliser pour protéger le seul motu public de la zone Tevaitoa-Tehurui.
Nous ouvrons cette cagnotte car depuis une semaine, les frais de logistique de cette mobilisation pèsent lourd sur nos familles qui se relayent pour veiller sur le motu HOREA.

In 🇬🇧 : On Saturday, May 09, 2026, in Ra’iatea, we, the people of Tevaitoa, Tehurui, and other communities of the island, gathered on our motu HOREA to protest against the project led by SAS TE RAI-ATEA.

The SAS TE RAI-ATEA project plans the construction of a Beach Club intended for an international clientele. Not only would this project alter the authenticity of our motu, but it would also compromise access for our families, who have been coming here for generations.

Restrictive access conditions would be implemented, favoring international visitors over the local residents of the island.

If we are mobilizing today, it is because there was NO public consultation whatsoever before decisions were made regarding this project.

On May 17, 2024, the former municipal council approved the lease of motu HOREA to SAS RAI-ATEA for 150,000 XPF per month over a period of 20 years… The building permit was then officially registered on July 05, 2024, with the Leeward Islands Subdivision.

Yet, the population was only informed about the existence of the project on August 21, 2024, even though motu HOREA is PUBLIC!

Faced with this withholding of information and lack of transparency, we took the initiative to mobilize in order to protect the only public motu in the Tevaitoa–Tehurui area.

We are opening this fundraiser because, for the past week, the logistical costs of this mobilization have placed a heavy burden on our families, who are taking turns watching over motu HOREA.
