for Jan Cuyco

Description

Jan Cuyco, a beloved reporter on the AFP Fact Check team in Manila, passed away on December 8, 2025 after a month-long illness. She was just 25.

Jan is survived by her mother Jeanette, her father Chito and her elder sister Fatima. Here is a statement written by her family:

“Our family shares with deep love and sorrow the passing of our beloved Ma. Jan Felicia D. Cuyco, who joined our Creator on December 8, 2025. She was a gentle soul whose love radiated quietly yet deeply, leaving an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory is a soft light that will continue to guide us through the days ahead. While her absence leaves an unimaginable ache in our hearts, we are comforted knowing she is now at peace, surrounded by light and grace.”

We are raising funds to help Jan’s family cover medical expenses and support them through this painful time. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser or keeping her loved ones in your thoughts.

Thank you for helping us honor Jan’s life and for standing with her family as they navigate this loss.
