GENTLE THREATS

Gentle Threats is a student-produced graduation short film created by the final-year Film and TV Production students of Griffith College Dublin. As emerging filmmakers, we are raising funds to bring our vision to life and to create a high-quality project for our graduate showcase at the Lighthouse Cinema in 2026.

LOGLINE
A diptych story about two young women: one put in peril by corruption and violence; the other discovering the kindness of her surroundings.

SYNOPSIS
Gentle Threats is a diptych of portrayals of bad and good, seen through the eyes of two young women dealing with their much different surroundings. Saoirse fights to survive in a violent and corrupt world, as her abusive boyfriend haunts her in search of vengeance; Lola, careless and naïve, makes her way home from a party under the influence, only to encounter an unexpected helper. As their nights unfold in parallel, the film interrogates the thin boundary between danger and kindness, and the cost of trusting either.

Our Vision

This film is part of our final-year graduation project, representing the culmination of our studies and our transition into the professional film industry. We aim to create a cinematic, emotionally resonant short that highlights social issues such as domestic violence, vulnerability in nightlife spaces, and the human capacity for both cruelty and kindness.
