Replacement Manfred Strössenreuther Trophy Fund

Replacement Manfred Strössenreuther Trophy Fund

Hello everyoneAfter the unexpected death of Manfred Strössenreuther in spring 1986, the South African Aero Club, represented by Peter Celliers, donated the Manfred Strössenreuther "Freedom of Flight" Trophy to the German Aero Club at the 1986 World Aerobatic Championships at South Cerney in Great Britain. This became a floating CIVA / FAI trophy, and was first awarded to the winner of the Final Freestyle programme at the 1986 WAC - in this case to Petr Jirmus of Czechloslovakia. Sadly this lovely trophy became lost after presentation to US pilot Zach Heffley at the 2007 World Championships, that year held at Grenada in Spain. Despite wide-ranging searches no trace of it has ever been found. Donations are now sought to finance a replacement trophy that will be awarded to future FAI World Champions in the Final Freestyle programme, starting with the 2019 WAC at Chateauroux in France. Please use the donation panel on the right here to help us to build this fund so that we can commission a replacement for this trophy. Our target is €15,000 and the fund will remain open until the next CIVA Plenary Conference in Warsaw, November 2018. Thank you!Final Freestyle World Aerobatic Champions1986 - Petr Jirmus, Czechloslovakia1988 - Patrick Paris, France1990 - Jurgis Kairis, USSR1994 - Jurgis Kairis, Lithuania1996 - Patrick Paris, France1998 - Roland Dominique, France2000 - Peter Besenyei, Hungary2001 - Klaus Schrodt, Germany2005 - Klaus Schrodt, Germany2007 - Zachery Heffley, United States2009 - Renaud Ecalle, France2011 - Rob Holland, United States2013 - Rob Holland, United States2015 - Rob Holland, United States2017 - Rob Holland, United States
