Hello, everyone & welcome to this money pot!A couple of months ago our class at Ursuline High School Wimbledon began working with a great organisation called First Give. We learnt all about the critical work of charities and how they support the sick, disabled, poor and socially excluded in our communities. As a class, we looked at many charities and decided to focus our support on Plan Zheroes. Plan Zheroes is a charity that connects food businesses with organisations that can take their surplus food, rather than waste it, they can use this food to feed those that are at risk of going hungry in our communities. As a class, we are competing against other classes in our year to best present Plan Zheroes. To focus on their impact and social benefit. The other classes will be presenting their chosen charities. The winner will receive a £1000 cash donation to support their charity and of course, we would like Plan Zheroes to benefit from this. They are a small upcoming charity and can do a lot with £1000. We have prepared a presentation, written a song and produced two videos. In addition, we need to fundraise ourselves and this is where we hope you can help. So far as a class we have raised £69.91 but have set ourselves a goal of £300. If many of you just contribute just a little we will achieve our goal and help Plan Zheroes to:* fund a new vehicle, more cool bags, more fridges and recruit more volunteers.....then they can help more charities and more needy people. Please, can you spare a pound or two? Enjoy this video. and this one. Thank you Anna, Maddie, Grace, Isabella, Caitlin and Soraia from Class 8 Ursula at Ursuline High School

Hello everyone & welcome to the "YPP Afternoon Tea" money pot! Each year Romsey Mill take the young mothers attending the Young Parents Programme out for a celebratory afternoon tea. This year the event will be on 23rd June at the Gonville Hotel in their Atrium Brasserie. The cost is £17.50, but the girls will contribute £5 towards it. The Gonville Hotel have kindly applied a discount for our treat and are creating some lovely invitations for the Mums. We would very much appreciate any donations that will help towards the remaining cost to Romsey Mill. The YPP Afternoon Tea is a really special treat for these young mums. Below are some quotes from 2 girls who went last year. “When I attended the afternoon tea last year it was absolutely lovely, it was nice to relax and get to know new people. The atmosphere was so chilled and I had the best time, especially the brownies and salmon sandwiches!” “The afternoon tea last year was the first thing I really did for myself after having a baby. Even though it was scary having 'time off' it was great to have a laugh and feel like my old self again, you can lose that a bit when you become a parent. It felt really good having a treat and just enjoying lovely food and company without worrying about anything else.” With just 1-click you can donate to a good cause* Give however much you want* All payments are 100% secure* Why Leetchi.com?

The Stories of those who died in the Great War from the Parish of Fulflood & Weeke, Winchester November 11, 2018 will mark the centenary of the Armistice that finally silenced the guns in the Great War. Up and down the country, in what will undoubtedly be deeply poignant commemorative services, communities will remember the hundreds of thousands of soldiers, sailors and airmen who died in a conflict that is still etched on our national psyche. Fulflood and Weeke in Winchester will be no exception. The churches of St. Paul and St. Matthew contain memorials to no fewer than 91 men from the parish who went off to war never to return and they will be remembered at services in November. Although these men died more than a century ago their stories are only now being retold thanks to the efforts of a local research group. Over the past three years the researchers have worked to build up a picture of the lives of the parish’s war dead – where they lived and worked, where they went to school, their families, and, of course, where they fought and died. The stories we have glimpsed have been moving and fascinating. Young men from the streets of Fulflood, Weeke and elsewhere in Winchester went to fight and die not only on the Western Front but also at Gallipoli, Mesopotamia (modern Iraq) and even Russia. Winchester, of course, was a garrison town so many joined those regiments based here – the Hampshires, the Rifle Brigade and the King’s Royal Rifles. Others served in the Royal Navy and the fledgling air force. Men from Canada, Australia, New Zealand and East Africa with family connections in the parish, volunteered to fight for the “Mother Country” and their names are remembered on the memorials. One of these men had been on Captain Scott’s final expedition to Antarctica in 1912 and was to die in a German prisoner-of-war camp. Many schools where the men went to are still here. Several went as infants to Western School, then in Elm Rd, and onto St. Thomas School in Mews Lane, which was eventually amalgamated into Kings’ School. There, they are remembered on the St. Thomas School Memorial Board. Some went onto Peter Symond’s Grammar School, now the Sixth Form College, and they too have a memorial board. Some went to prep schools and onto public schools such as Winchester College where they are also remembered. Some schools they attended no longer exist, for example, St. Peter’s in Chesil Street - but their records do. The time has now come to make their stories accessible to all interested people and aspects of this will take money! * The most expensive item will be to publish a book of their stories which we aim to have available by Remembrance Sunday, on the 11th November this year.* We also plan to have portable permanent exhibition boards which can be displayed in:* St. Mathew’s and St. Paul’s, the churches of the parish of Fulflood & Weeke.* Local schools* Hampshire Record Office & the Discovery Centre* Community halls* Relevant military museums & local military bases* Creation of a website with all the information on it which will have an element of interrogation for example, do any of the men live in your street?* We hope further that:* Teaching resources will be created in liaison with local schools. Many current pupils in Winchester, especially at Western, Westgate and Peter Symmond's, may live in houses that were once the homes of these men.* A programme of Public Lectures & Guided Tours will happen.Long-term, we also hope to tell the stories of all the men who went to fight in World Wars I & II but that is not part of the current project. We do hope that you find this a worthwhile cause to contribute to.You can further help if you think you are related to any of the men and even have relevant photographs. A full list of the Great Wa

It's easy & transparent!Thank you! Hello my name is Kellie I never thought I would be in this position but I am going to lose everything I ever worked for since I was 21.I am going to lose my home and need to pay my remaining mortgage fee and don’t have the money to do this and my eviction date is very soon. The date of my mortgage is up this year and the remaining amount I can’t afford as I’m unemployed and a carer for my father and no payments were being made I will lose my home. I have a shared ownership so I only pay half mortgage half rent to housing association, which I still have to pay rent now. I have mental health issues and have been on medication for depression for a long time and have panic attack’s but have still worked hard but due to losing my mother to ovarian cancer I completely lost myself and lost my job and is now a carer for my dad who has bladder cancer and is slowly shutting down because he can live without mum as they were married for 60 years. I am a single parent with no family only dad and have 2 teenage children who keep me going to live everyday. I work part time for cash in hand to just get by and pay the bills. My story is not the usual help for someone with illness issues and maybe not the deserving story but it’s my story and my last hope of saving my home, my pride and my 2 children. Everyday is a day near to losing everything and my mind is not shutting down. I don’t sleep at night with the worry. Any donations will be paid to the lender and confirmation of this will be sent to all people that donate. Thank you for your time and reading this.
Hello everyone & welcome to this money pot! With just 1-click you can donate to a good cause* Give however much you want* All payments are 100% secure* Why Leetchi.com? It's easy & transparent!I went on holiday to Nigeria last month and when I went to visit a relative, I met this little boy with a cute name; Lola. He was around other kids who were playing around but he totally looked different. He looked ill, pale and hungry. So I carried him in my arms and hugged him for so long. A lady then approached and explained that Lola's mom left him with her (she already has 6 kids) because she found someone who flew her to France, all expenses paid in the hope of finding a new life and eventually bringing her son over. Lola has been very sad since his mom left apparently and he just wouldn't eat. Lola's mom has been gone for 1 year now and apparently, she's struggling in France. She's also stuck as her visa has now gone out of date, she can't speak French so she can't get a job. The person who paid for her trip used her and dumped her on the street. Now she's left begging on the streets of Paris. She doesn't have any money to buy her ticket back to Nigeria. I have been following her story since last month and I decided to create this pot for her. I have decided to help her as much as I can in order to join her child. Please contribute any amount you can, no matter how small it is and Lola and her mom will find a normal life again.
