thrive online is set up in response to different challenges resulting from this pandemic. We want to support shielding asylum seekers and refugees through online platforms

Hello everyone & welcome to this money pot!

We have decided to set up this project in response to challenges faced by asylum seekers and refugees in Leeds stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic. This vulnerable group of people are particularly isolated and sadly unable to connect easily and safely with community networks and charities which provide them with an invaluable lifeline .Many face additional challenges as a result of a traumatic asylum journey, delays in Home Office decisions and the task of settling into a new country with a much reduced support network.

The aim of this charity is to offer that vital lifeline to help improve the well-being and quality of life for asylum seekers and refugees in Leeds and Bradford.

We intend to achieve this aim by providing:

- An Online, out of hours Drop in Service

-Online social activities inc: practical advice and shared experience about food, cooking, culture, music, self-help resources , emotional support

-Signposting and advice on connecting with local support services

- Help with communication related resources and essential wellbeing materials.

By reaching out and linking people together through Thrive Online we know from our experience through lockdown we can make positive change and minimise isolation for asylum seekers and refugees in West Yorkshire .

With just 1-click your support will make a difference to people's lives in this unprecedented time.

Let's work together, let's save lives, let's thrive online !
