ABOUT TRIUMPH UGANDA

The Robust Initiative For Promoting Human Rights-TRIUMPH UGANDA is an independent charity organization founded in 2014 and duly registered with the Government of Uganda in 2016 as a community-led charity organization aspiring to remedy the improprieties caused by inadequate Human Rights respect and knowledge, increase in HIV/AIDS scourge, lack of knowledge on Sexual Health and Reproductive Health (SHRH) and addressing socio-economic drivers of HIV/AIDS amongLGBTIQ+ and other marginalized communities.

The Need,

LGBT+ Persons in Uganda continue to be on the margins of discrimination, arrests, imprisonment and violence solely based on their true or perceived sexual orientation. A sharp increase in the violence was more visible in 2014 during the Anti-Homosexuality Act that was annulled by the court on technicalities however, the situation remains volatile up to date as homophobia-motivated arrests continue even during the Global Covid-19 pandemic making the already marginalized community more vulnerable and need of specifically tailored support as that TRIUMPH UGANDA continues to do including [provision of legal Aid, addressing Homophobia through stakeholders sensitisation and provision of direct health consumables.

However, it is impossible for TRIUMPH UGANDA to provide the very needed support without resources and we thus request you to consider donating to our initiative today.

With your support, we will scale up the provision of both legal support and direct HIV medication access as well as advocating for a more humane legal framework for LGBTIQ+ community in Uganda.
