After defeating Sweden for the gold medal at the 2018 World Junior Championship, Team Canada hosts the 2019 installment of the tournament in British Columbia. Hockey Canada has yet to unveil its roster as the official announcement typically occurs in December. But the Canadians are likely to see forwards Maxime Comtois and Alex Formenton, who scored the dagger in last year’s Gold Medal game, return to lead the upstart group.

Russia and the United States are among returning countries to the annual tournament. Kazakhstan, however, finally returns to the Top Division after spending the last nine years in Group I. They seized a spot in Vancouver after Belarus, who was winless in four games last year, was relegated.

Canucks fans will have an opportunity to see 2018 draft pick Quinn Hughes, when the University of Michigan defenseman possibly suits up for the United States.
