80 kilos d’espoir

L'arrivée au monde du bébé de Mae Ping redonne foi en ce qui est possible

→ Aujourd’hui, l’éléphant d’Asie est une espèce victime d’abus par l’industrie touristique et forestière, et menacée d’extinction à très court terme, principalement au Laos où il en reste moins de 800.

→ C'est avec la plus grande joie et fierté que nous vous annonçons qu'après presque 22 mois de grossesse, Mae Ping a donné naissance à un magnifique éléphanteau ! 80 kilos d’espoir ont pointé le bout de leur trompe à Pakbeng ! Cette naissance est une petite victoire pour le Laos et les éléphants, possible grâce au programme de reproduction de l’Elephant Conservation Center.

Pour soutenir la maman Mae Ping et son éléphanteau, signe fort qu’une nouvelle génération d’éléphants est encore possible, le Mekong Elephant Park lance une cagnotte .

Mae Ping's baby arrival into the world brings renewed faith in what is possible

→ Today Asian elephants are abused by the tourism and logging industry, and threatened with extinction in the very near future, mainly in Laos where there are less than 800 left.

→ It is with the utmost joy and pride that we announce that after 22 months of pregnancy Mae Ping has given birth to a beautiful baby elephant. 80 kilos of hope have pointed the tip of their trunk, a small victory for Laos and elephants, possible thanks to the help of the Elephant Conservation Center.

The Mekong Elephant Park has launched a fundraising and sponsorship program to support Mae Ping and her baby elephant, a proof that a new generation is still possible in Laos.

Any help, no matter how small, would be their best reward.

→ By helping Mae Ping and her baby Boua, you are giving them the opportunity to live an elephant life together in their natural environment. The baby elephant will have the chance to grow up alongside her mother, something Mae Ping unfortunately never experienced, as she was separated from her mother when she was very young, sold for tourism in a foreign country.
